Professional Installation of KMEW Facade Panels

During the manufacture of fibre-cement façade panels, account was taken of the fact that these products are intended for use in ventilated façade systems.

The design ensures reliable protection of walls, the timely removal of moisture from the air chambers and the retention of heat. A ventilated façade with KMEW fibre-cement panels combines innovative solutions, modern technologies and compliance with environmental standards in construction.

Main stages of installing fibre-cement panels

• Installation is possible on virtually any type of wall (brick, timber, reinforced concrete), including walls with a metal or timber framework.
• To ensure greater system reliability, panels with a thickness of 14 and 16 mm or more are fixed to a metal framework using clamps.
• Before installation, the strength of the external walls is checked to determine whether it is possible to fix the frames (subsystems).
• For KMEW façade panels, metal frames certified in accordance with Spanish and EU standards are used.
• For timber frames, timber battens with a thickness of at least 50 mm made from hardwood are required.
• The following insulation materials are used to ensure the building’s thermal insulation:
  • basalt wool with a density of at least 80 kg/m³.
  • glass wool with a density of at least 30 kg/m³.
• A vapour-permeable membrane, certified in accordance with Spanish and EU standards, is laid over the insulation.
• Any damage to the panels is repaired using touch-up paint of the appropriate colour.
• The quality of the installation is checked.
