Why KMEW Facade Panels?

KMEW combines Japanese fiber-cement technology, functional coatings, and a wide variety of designs to create durable, low-maintenance ventilated facades. The European product line includes Filltect solutions with a photocatalytic ceramic coating and Ceradir V with a hydrophilic coating, each offering specific performance characteristics and applications.

ECO-FRIENDLINESS

The photocatalytic coating used on certain Filltect panels can help break down atmospheric pollutants such as NOx and SOx through light-activated reactions. The resulting compounds can then be washed away by rainwater.

This feature applies only to products with a photocatalytic coating and should not be assumed to apply to all KMEW product lines.

Professional Installation of KMEW Facade Panels

KMEW panels are part of an exterior cladding system with a drained and ventilated cavity. This configuration allows water and moisture to be drained away, protects the interior surface of the building envelope, and enables the cladding to be combined with continuous thermal insulation solutions.

Installation is performed on a substructure sized for the project, using the clips, profiles, and accessories specified in the technical manual. KMEW offers both horizontal and vertical installation solutions depending on the series and construction details.

Ventilated Facade Systems (VFS) for Energy-Efficient and Durable Buildings

Filltect features a photocatalytic ceramic coating. Light helps break down some of the organic dirt adhering to the surface, and when it rains, the water helps wash it away.

Ceradir V uses a hydrophilic coating: water spreads across the surface, penetrates beneath the dirt, and helps the rain wash it away.

The result is a facade that requires less routine cleaning than many conventional finishes. The final performance depends on the environment, orientation, and degree of exposure of each building.

Coating Technology

UV Protection and Fade Resistance for Durable Facades

In the Filltect series, the photocatalytic ceramic coating is designed to protect the finish from ultraviolet radiation and reduce color fading over time.

This feature is particularly important in Spain, where many facades are subjected to high levels of sun exposure for much of the year. For any warranty commitments or specific time periods, please refer to the documentation applicable to the selected product.

High Weather Resistance for Long-Lasting Facades

Fire-Resistant Facade Panels for Safer Buildings

KMEW panels intended for the European market have a fire reaction classification in accordance with the product’s technical documentation. For applicable solutions, the exact classification listed in the corresponding certificate or ETA must always be specified.

In residential, commercial, or high-rise projects, the selection of cladding must be made in conjunction with the overall design of the facade, the substructure, the insulation, and the building’s regulatory requirements.

Low-Maintenance KMEW Facade Panels

The functional coatings and industrial finish of the panels help reduce routine cleaning and maintenance requirements. Unlike natural materials, which may require periodic protective treatments, KMEW panels are supplied with a factory-applied finish.

However, any facade must be inspected and maintained in accordance with the building’s condition, the surrounding environment, and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Design and Architectural Freedom

KMEW offers textures and colors inspired by wood, brick, stone, stucco, and contemporary linear designs. The depth of the textures creates shadows and visual variations that add dimension to the building’s exterior.

The product line allows for the combination of different textures and colors within a single project, making it ideal for use in single-family homes, renovations, modular buildings, and larger-scale residential developments.
